If you are interested in selling your music on this site, please read the following:
What the ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP-RECORD-SHOP will do:
1) Create a web page on this site dedicated to selling your CD(s), downloads and merchandise. It will include a band photo, a biography, music clips, links to your own website and/or MySpace, reviews and any other text or images you would like there.
2) Give you a URL to add as a link on your website and/or MySpace, so you can tell people where to buy your music and merchandise.
3) Handle postage of CDs and merchandise (naturally, you will have to provide a small stock of these items to me to distribute)
4) Promote your music along with other ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP-RECORD-SHOP products and releases as widely as possible, including on the ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP website and at live events.
How the money works:
You set your selling price for CDs and downloads. You can also make some, or all, of your music free to download.
The ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP-RECORDS-SHOP retains 40% of every CD sale and 35% of every MP3 download purchased through ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP-RECORDS.COM. All you need to do is to provide me with half a dozen CDs to get the ball rolling, as well as any text, band photos and logos you would like to use on your web page. Oh, and decide on a price to sell your music and merchandise.
I will keep you informed of any sales and provide accounts of any PayPal transactions relating to your CDs and downloads.
For now, the ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP-RECORD-SHOP is primarily about raising the profile of mature bands and their music. There's a way to go, so there's probably very little money in it for the time being (though, hopefully, one day this will change).
For this reason, there's no formal business contract, and business is done on the basis of mutual trust, and by 'gentleman's' agreement. If you really did want something in writing, however, I'm sure I could produce a simple agreement. Either party can pull out of an agreement at any time and have their CDs returned and any money they have made from Download or CD sales paid to them. The idea is to help bands associated with the site, not rip them off a few quid, so if you are still interested in selling music on the site, we could meet up and chat about it.
